I purchased this item for my daughter's 20" bike. The kickstand goes on the end of the axle (make sure you get the right axle diameter - this one is for 3/8" axle nuts). The stand leg is a little long, causing the bike to stand very upright - fine on level ground but more prone to falling over the highside. So I rotated the stand down and forward (CW from left side view) to allow the bike to lean over more on the stand.
