fenders Aug 10, 2010
By N These arrived as expected, with the fenders and the braces/stays/arms, as pictured. However, they do not come with the L-shaped bracket for the front fender or the roughly Y-shaped one for the rear fender. (I was not sure about this before I made the purchase.) I am currently waiting for an order for these to come in to my local bike shop. (NCW sells them, but I didn't want to waste money on shipping for $2 in hardware.) The stays, instead of mounting to fender eyelets on the frame, mount on the axle like Wald's rear baskets, which is great for my bike as it lacks these eyelets (holes) near the dropouts (where the axles attach to the frame). This, I think, is a great feature for these fenders as the tire size--26x1.375"--that they fit is mostly, to my knowledge, used on older, less expensive bikes that might not have these holes.
CONCLUSION: Great looking chrome fenders, come with everything except the brackets for the brake bosses mentioned (irritatingly ambiguously) by the reviewer above me. They should be great once I get them on the bike (I've seen they'll fit, I just lack the hardware.)
UPDATE (ONE YEAR LATER): These are probably a good deal harder to install than fenders that attach to purpose-built holes or braze-ons near the dropouts, but are practical enough to install and adjust. After riding during the winter (including a couple weeks with a fair amount of basically bike-wading through snow over my bottom bracket--not recommended without regular chain lubing, by the way) the rock salt (or something) seems to have damaged the chrome plating on the inside of the fenders. I didn't even notice until my dad pointed it out. A little sanding and some paint should sort it out, but just a heads-up that these will rust on you if you encounter stones, dirt, rock salt or anything else that will damage the plating. (I can only assume those were the cause). Other than that they've been great and are still holding up well (even after a minor to moderate crash or two, ect). Maybe without the salt they'll last fine for you?

hardware? Mar 03, 2009
By zachary these fenders are beautiful and fit as described, but they only came with one bracket for each fender. how are you supposed to mount them without adding some custom mounts at the top?
