Out of stock | | | | | | The IAS (Individual Adapting System) is adjustable from 55-60cm. Features a monomatic closure, 16 ventilation openings and Bee Stop mesh in the forward vents. Microsshell made of Makrolon, which is a high-tech thermoplastic Polycarbonate (PC) material developed by Messrs, Bayer. UVEX is using this material for the production of PC lenses for goggles and sport glasses, and the shells of our inmold bike helmets. The Bee Stop is Molded-in mesh in the large, forward vents that prevents bugs from impacting the scalp through the large ventilation openings. The XP100 also has the Individual Adapting System (IAS): With its ratcheting closure mechanism, and pivot points, the UVEX IAS 2-system provides a unique, three-dimensional, and micro-adjustable fit. The integrated strap system guide guarantees a good and tight fit. The IAS knob can be operated with one hand, while the helmet is on. The system also features a ventilated forehead with anti-allergic, washable cushion. Inmold Technology: Where other helmets have their protective foam glued into the hard outer shell, in our inmold process, the foam is injected into a mold that is "lined" with the Makrolon outer shell. As a result, the foam is bonded to the outer shell. The result is a much more stable helmet, which allows UVEX to increase the size of the ventilation openings. Monomatic closure: Most helmets use a standard click-lock, and anyone who rides knows that the fit of the chin strap can change as you get moving and start to sweat. Until now, you had a choice: stop and fiddle with your straps, or ride with a loose strap. UVEX has solved that particular annoyance with a ratcheted design (similar to what you might find on a pair of bike shoes or in-line skates, only smaller). This allows you to fine-tune how tight the strap closes on the chin on the fly. The strap itself is a 16mm wide, non-fade, uv-resistant, light, smooth, and easy on the skin. | | | | | |

I'm Jealous Sep 22, 2007
By Franz Metcalf I just got this helmet for my wife. Now I want to steal it from her! Light, airy, sharp-looking, these things are nice. But the fitting mechanism at the back is so easy, so slick, so fast, it's fun just to play with. She hasn't crashed in the helmet yet (thank goodness), so no feedback there, but recreational helmets these days are all pretty good, so it's fit and finish and comfort that separate them and this one simply knocks my Bell out of the water. I'm thinking of buying another and giving my Bell away.

Light comfortable and easy to adjust Aug 23, 2007
By E. Marcus This is by far the best helmet I've ever owned. (but I've also always purchased inexpensive helmets) It is very lightweight, extremely easy to adjust to my head, and the unique closure is GREAT.
The helmet is so comfortable on my head that I don't feel the need to remove it whenever I stop riding. Definitely made the right decision on this one.
