Excellent Bag Jul 23, 2009
By The Count Bought this bag, along with Topeak's Explorer rack, for commuting to work (20 mile round trip). Have been extremely pleased with the product thus far. Key observations:
+ Large capacity: Change of clothes, blackberry, etc. easily fit into the main compartment (I keep my work shoes at work). The side panniers provide considerable extra storage, as needed, for storing lunch, work files, jacket, etc. + Very functional: I highly recommend buying one of the Topeak racks with the MTX Quick Release features (such as the Explorer rack I purchased)...very easy to to slide bag on and off the rack and the bag is tightly secured when in use. + Quality construction: Only time will tell how the zippers hold up, but bag appears to be very durable and well-made. + Size/appearance: Since this is Topeak's largest trunk bag, was a little concerned it might look out of proportion on the bike and be heavy. But it looks fine, and it has not significantly altered the "drivability" of the bike. + Price: Amazon provided very competitive price and much lower than the local bike shops - Rain cover extra: Maybe a little bit of a bummer that the rain cover is an extra accessory. I bought the rain cover, but a reasonable alternative is to just wrap your cargo in plastic bags if you're expecting rain. The trunk bag itself is not rain proof, so you will need some type of protection if you do not want your cargo to get wet.
Overall, extremely pleased with the product thus far and highly recommend it to those that want a convenient, durable storage option with considerable capacity.

Great bag for commute and more May 24, 2009
By L. Gesky This is a great bag, well constructed, large, and secures easily. I originally selected this bag for my work commute. I use this or the smaller one a purchased for my partner almost every time I am on my bike. I actually find that I bike more often because it is easier to run errands. The only complaint/suggestion is a longer shoulder strap. When I carry the bag with full panniers I would like to sling it over shoulder but the strap is too short.

Perfect commuter bag Jan 09, 2009
By Matthew Walsh I've been trying to ride to work daily. I needed a bag that could hold a change of clothes and a laptop. This bag has worked out perfectly. It's so wonderful to know your bag and items are completely secure.

This is well constructed and has a precision fit to be MTX rack. The quick release works well. The main compartment can easily be converted into a mini cooler. The sturdy walls will assure you won't have smashed sandwiches.

The absolute best option for the biking commuter Mar 30, 2010
By Craig S. Prior I bike-commute to work, nearly 15 miles each way. I love feeling this bag tucked in behind me because it is the absolute best.
It is tough, durable, excellently made. Multiple zippers for different compartments and an expansion option. I detach it from the rack, attach the carrying strap, bring it into the office and use it like a briefcase.
This bag is all quality and is emminently practical. I use one of the pannier sides to put away a flannel shirt mid-ride. I also like the water-bottle holder built onto the back of the bag. One bottle on my bike frame and another on the bag... I'm set.
If you're a spandex-racer this is definitely too heavy and bulky. But if you're a commuter, especially a geeky one like me (cargo shorts, polyester polo shirt, bright yellow windbreaker, Keen clipless bike shoes) this bag is the cat's pajamas.
Oh yeah, I also got the rain cover Topeak Rain Cover for MTX Trunk. Not a lot of rain here in So Calif, but when not in use the rain cover folds up and out of the way. Smart option.
