4Time XEN Pedals  Jul 04, 2011 By Julie Biker
The XEN line appears to be a replacement of the Time RXS line of pedals. The RXS were very good and the XEN are functionally just as good and somewhat lighter. With the XEN Time has improved a bit on the RXS by making the platform wider and less susceptible to hot spots. The XEN continue to use the RXS's cleats. The cleats do not wear out as quickly as cleats for Look-type pedals but they are more expensive than Look-type cleats. These XEN pedals are easy to clip in and out. I've been using the XEN for over a year and they have been solid and reliable. Although easy to clip out, they have never clipped out on their own. You can adjust the clip tension on the pedals but I have never bothered. The default settings are good enough for me.
