The amazingly loud Bike Horn May 13, 2008
By Jennifer V. Merculief I thought this item might be a little cheap considering it was only 9.99 but I got it in today, and we let our 10 yr old daughter test it out. Suprizingly it is very loud and quite durable. She loves it, and is waiting for a nice day to use it outdoors. If you are looking for a bike accessory to spark up your kids bike, then this is the one to get. Its has amazing sound, and the cool thing is, you can also use it as a mic!!!!

Fragiel, small, unpractical Nov 18, 2010
By Gom59 I bought this for my 7 yo son. Like another reviewer said, this item is small. Also it mounts on the handlebar center bolt, which doesn't exist on all bikes.
The microphone output is not loud at all.
But worst of all, it is fragile, broken in a few weeks. Not a kid's toy, not an adult one either!

"medallions"
I had this same horn when I was a kid 25 years ago and my 5 year old son loves it too..
Some things stand the test of time, and this is one of them.

What I wish I had been able to read before buying this. Apr 29, 2010
By N. Reed OK here is what I wish I had known before I bought this.
First, this is a TOY and constructed as such. I was expecting something a little more solid and larger for some reason. The siren itself is pretty small and the cord is not that long, you really have to stretch it to get it up to your mouth from the handlebars. The coiled cord is cheap and feels like it's about to rip out of the microphone piece. The switches on the siren are cheap as well, sometimes you have to really fidget with them to change the sounds or to go between microphone and siren mode. The microphone works, but as it is only powered by a 9V battery, it's not that loud. You have to really yell to get any kind of output from the speaker, and if you have to yell, what's the point of a PA in the first place? OK well, like I said it's toy.
Also not described was the method of mounting. there is a single metal tab on the siren that is intended to be secured via the center bolt of your bikes handlebars. Luckily the bike I installed it on had a single center handle bar bolt, but a lot of bikes do not. I couldn't have easily installed this on a BMX bike, for example.
The 3 siren noises are unique and suitably loud. The reactions of surprised pedestrians can be downright hilarious (this alone makes the item worth its price). I've noticed that some less intelligent people, when they hear the siren from behind, will actually move TOWARDS the sound of the siren instead of out of your way.
One user said that the fact that you have to hold down the button to make the siren sounds was a bad thing, however I think that's a plus. The thought of that siren wailing unchecked from a kid's bike early in the morning is a bit much. You can tap the button and make cool chirping siren remix sounds.
All in all, a very fun product, but a toy. Don't expect this product to last too long in the hands of a child. One good crash and this thing is going to explode in a shower of yellow plastic shards and cheap switches.
Yellow Siren Dec 29, 2010
By Eric Ok, I had one of these as a kid. It is the same exact product! Funny! kinda cheaply built, but it works great! no problems at all.
