5bike saddle bags  Aug 14, 2007 By E. D. Hance
I wanted a saddle bag to go over my rear bike rack. I found this product on Amazon and it was what I had been searching for in bike stores. I like the reflector strips on the back. The bag has a durable, black heavy nylon fabric which is easy to clean. You get mud splatters and road dirt from ridding in rain. The bags fit over the rear wheel and hangs down to about the middle of the rear wheel. I put items in the bags when I go out for a day trip. When I stop there are five zippered pockets so I can get things out without unpacking the whole pack. I highly recommend this product.

2not so impressed  May 14, 2008 By Aaron James Christensen
Based on other reviews of pannier bags I had read, my main concern was securing the bags to the rack. This item does relatively well in that area. The 4 attachment points were reasonably secure, though not the speediest, but I suppose that's the trade-off.

The major disappointment in this item is the lack of rigidity on the inside, and the pretty weak means for securing the side to the rack to prevent sway/flopping. The problem could be the pairing of the pannier with the rack I bought, but I didn't see any racks with sufficient pannier support to prevent the bag corners from wrapping/curving around and tangling with the spokes.

So on my first ride using these bags this morning, the little bungee cord on the inside popped off the securing D-ring (these hooks are too wide-open), caught a spoke and ripped through the cord (better than losing any spokes though). Now the bag on one side was flopping freely. This condition resulted in the rear inside corner tending toward the wheel, and ending up catching in the spokes. The result: exploded Dr. Pepper in the bag with my shoes for work! Yippee!

I hate crappy products, but I also hate messing with returns, so I'll likely engineer some solution to prevent the corners from wrapping around the seat-post rack's inadequate "pannier supports" and tangling in the spokes.

The fact that the bag isn't shredded speaks to the toughness of the material, at least.

4Good product,Good value  Aug 06, 2007 By R. Matteson
These bags seem to be well constructed and fairly heavy duty. The price is also right. My only complaint is that they are a little cumbersome to install and remove from the bike rack. I also want to get two short bungee cords to keep them against the rack when they are empty so they don't flap. This is the only set of panniers I've had so I don't know how other manufactures handle the mounting.

4They do the trick !  Jan 28, 2008 By E. P. Haufe
First off- these saddle bags have very deep pockets- and you can store a lot of stuff in there. I have been able to fit my jacket, and about 4 boxes and packages to mail things in. It did take me awhile though to learn how to adjust it properly. The first time it fell off the back of my bike. Once I learned to adjust the straps onto the rack properly, they fit like a glove!

5Bicycle Saddle Pannier  May 07, 2007 By Gay Winterringer
Wow what a gift. It is easy to put on, easy to take off, lots of room, light weight and holds a lot of stuff.
