Great buy for the price, very comfortable if adjusted properly Jul 05, 2007
By Daniel Brown I had one of these on my road bike for about two years. In that time, I probably rode about 1000 miles, generally doing 10-30 miles/ride.
This seat can be extremely comfortable, and for the price, is definitely a good deal. Most riders will certainly get their money's worth.
Many of the other negative reviews on here describe exactly what I noticed with this seat before I adjusted it properly, which takes a lot of trial and error. Because it is so soft, when you depress it, you don't end up exactly where you expect to, so you may end up aligning it a different position than you think you initially should. For me, I had to tilt it back about 10 degrees from level. After that, it was EXTREMELY comfortable. I can ride 50 miles and feel quite cozy.
The negatives I see with this are durability related. The outer fabric is pretty cheap, and after getting it wet with sweat or rain, it will eventually pull free of the inner, rubberrized layers. You'll start to see "blisters" in the fabric, and soon after, the covering will tear free. I think what causes this is that the Schwinn logo on the side is a bit sticky and will tug on the cover as your shorts slide over it. The other is that the seat is a bit wide for a road bike (good for a mountain bike) which may cause you to pinch the front of the seat with your thighs as you peddle.
If you are looking into other options, I would recommend the Nashbar 2x Sport Saddle for a few dollars more. It is very similar to this one but narrower, more rounded, and more durable. It is however, not as soft as this one, which may be good or bad for you.
In summary:
Pros: This saddle is among the most comfortable you can find for under $75 (once adjusted properly).
Cons: Durability questionable over time. A bit heavy compared to "serious" road bike seats.

I LOVE this seat! Nov 21, 2006

This is the most comfortable bike seat I have ever sat on, much better than the Butterfly Tri gel seat I bought for about $100 and never used. I have one on my tri bike, on my beat-around mountain bike and will be buying another one for a new road bike I'm getting.
During a local 2006 century ride, I saw another woman with the same Schwinn seat on her road bike and we both agreed that this seat is the best!!!

Awesome Schwinn Bicycle Seat!!! Sep 12, 2006
By Tiffany I have been looking around for a bicycle seat to ride on rough trails. The one my bike came with was not cutting it. ;) I ended up choosing this one, because of the 'give' in the narrow part of the seat. I thought it would create more comfort. I put it on that night and went riding. Not only was it more comfortable, but there was a bounce to it, so when you went over rocky trails, it didn't hurt to hit the seat on the way down! I'm a satisfied customer! :)

Comfortable seat May 14, 2007
By Dana A. Nuccitelli This is definitely a good comfortable seat. I recently biked for 38 miles in one day (approximately 3 hours) and my rear was just starting to get a little sore at the very end. The gel padding is very nice.

Back in the saddle again! Aug 11, 2008

Let's face it, bike seats do wear out over time. Even the most expensive saddles are going to break down over time, and even with a premium gel seat from five or six years ago, you're going to feel the pain in that "important area" when you take a drop with an XC bike or bump a curb with a street cruiser.
If you look carefully at the photos of this Schwinn Adult Ergonomic Bicycle Saddle you'll see that it has a cut-out center relief zone in just the right area. From a personal perspective this rider found that the "love channel" section works like a champ, and after riding for a couple of hours I found that my backside wasn't sore and my crotch never felt like it was numb or falling asleep.
Do keep in mind that any saddle, regardless of price, has to be adjusted to the individual rider, and it might take a day or two (or three) to do this. Carry your simple adjustment tools with you and you can do it while you're riding, and you'll find the investment of time will pay off in riding comfort.
Also worthy of consideration is the well-made Planet Bike Men's A.R.S. Anatomic Relief Bicycle Saddle, a similar product with a slightly different though quite comfortable and sharp looking.
It almost seems that a bike saddle of this price shouldn't be given any more than a 4-star rating, as there are some great gel seats out there that cost a lot more. On the other hand, once this saddle is adjusted properly, it's a 5-star ride, and that's what counts. It's well-made, and highly recommended.
