Simple and effective Nov 06, 2010
By Robert Sanges It mounts and dismounts from the bike in seconds. It's wide enough to keep the mud from being flung into my face, but sends it on my feet and shins instead. That's what you can expect from any of the down-tube mounted fenders. I use it on my Pugsley with 3.7" wide tires and it does what I expect it to do.

Hope it rains or snows soon so I can fully test this out! Oct 18, 2011

Pros:
-Easy install! If you can hold a pencil, you can set this up.
-Will fit any size frame tubing I've ever seen.
-Includes shims for cables strung on the bottom of your downtube, or just to protect the paint.
-Pretty lightweight, only 99 grams, if you are concerned by such things.
-molded of 2 different plastics, so lower/tail end is more forgiving of rocks and bumps, top is stronger/thicker
Cons:
-appears short (on my bike it does anyhow)
Breakdown:
I can't wait for the winter weather to roll into the Denver area so I can test this out! It seems kinda short on my bike, but I also ride a pretty big bike. This should be great on any average sized bike. It installs very easily via 2 stretchable rubber straps. These feel very secure for now, but I'm not sure they'll hold up well to the chemicals used on public roads here. I'm expecting I'll need to replace these straps with something more durable, but should easily last this winter. It hasn't really rained here recently, so I'm not sure how much good this will really do yet. The combination I have of this plus front and rear motocross style fenders has me optimistic though.

almost perfect Dec 14, 2010
By rhubarb So my mountain bike has Fox Talas 36 forks, which seem to preclude the use of the mudguards which plug in at the bottom of the fork. Having been thoroughly sprayed in the face by cold rain coming off the front wheel I decided to try these downtube fenders. This particular model is pretty wide and relatively long, and is successful in catching most of the spray unless I go too fast -- the only limitation is that the steering tube (Intense 6.6) is too wide for the gap (lower right hand side in the product image) to allow the fender to move higher up the downtube. All in all, it works very well (and has a pleasant price), and my face is the happier for it!

I find it very nice to use it on my Panasonic sport500. it latches on nicely to the frame and keeps my face and shirt clean even when riding in puddles and rain. does its job pretty well.

Dry is good Aug 12, 2010

This fender worked better than I expected. It keeps me decently dry on wet roads. It also mounts well on my bicycle.
