Good Overall Nov 24, 2009
By Some Guy To me, nothing beats the feeling of clipping into the pedals on my road bike and setting out on a long trek. These are the next best thing. I use them with hiking boots on my winter commuting bike and they're pretty nice. Not as easy to get into, very easy to get out of, and they allow a full stroke compared to bare pedals. I'd buy them again.
One thing - If you're going to wear hiking boots for your ride, get the extra long ones. Yes, I wear hiking boots. (It's winter in Minnesota, it snows here.)

fantastic alternative to clips and special shoes Oct 13, 2008

I am a diabetic. I have very little feeling in my feet, and they tend to slip off the pedals of my trike. I bought some expensive Sidi bike shoes and pedals that click onto them, but it's hard for me to "feel" through the shoe, thus making it very hard to center and click on in. Power Grips are wonderful. They keep your feet nice and snug on the pedals, but you can take them out in a second. And... no special shoes, clips. These are wonderful. I highly recommend them. Easy to install (but you must have a metal pedal you can screw the nuts into. they are a brilliant invention. I sold my trike that had them on it, and now, I've got a new TerraTrike, and I NEED to get another pair of XL straps and hardware. I'm ordering them tonight.

Power Grip Pedals are Awesome Jun 18, 2011
By Shaun Battick Firstly, there is a learning curve associated with using this product; especially if you are not used to toe clips or clipless pedals. I actually fell on my first attempt. After several practise runs, I'm getting to really like these pedals.
Pros Very easy to install. The real effort was to take off the original pedals Enables fast acceleration. I am able to move from 0 - 18mph in 10 seconds flat (which is very fast in my book!) After a few weeks, the soreness of using new muscles (in the leg) on the upstroke goes away and I've found I can go farther/faster with less effort With practise, it becomes easy to slip your shoes into the straps and also to slip them out
Cons Always having to to twist out when I stop, othewise I will fall Requires some effort and time to properly adjust to use. You may even take a few spills in the beginning. Practise/confidence is essential before venturing into traffic.
Recommended for the biking enthusiast who wants more out of every ride.

Great Product Jul 28, 2011
By jackie In certain situations, I don't like to be clipped in to my pedals so I purchased these straps. They work great! They keep my feet on the pedals and help with the upstroke on the hills. If you don't want to use the strap for some reason, it's really easy to just flip the pedal over and keep on riding. Adjusting the strap size to fit your shoe is really easy. These are great for anyone that doesn't like to clip in but still wants basically the same feel. My feet tend to fall asleep so by using these straps it's easy to move my foot around to get the feeling back. Great product!

Great Low Cost Solution Jun 25, 2011
By James Ginn I bought the Power grips a few months ago because my feet were slipping off the pedals quite often while riding my mtb on bumpy roads and trails. They were very easy to install and to adjust. Well after a few hundred miles of use I can state that I certainly have no more problems with foot slippage so I would highly recommend for trail and road cycling. As for city commuting where there are a lot more sudden stops and starts I am not so sure as it takes a bit of practice getting into the straps smoothly.
