5Great Lube!  Dec 17, 2009 By jcw5002
I use this lube on my Stumpjumper for the bolts and the bearings in the rear derailleur pulleys. It also works good on the seatpost tube and on other parts of the bike. Good stuff!

5Good Heavy Grease  Oct 17, 2011 By M. Russo
As my title points out, this Polylube 1000 is a pretty heavy grease. It's thick. You don't use grease to lube up your chains and stuff - for that you use special high-viscosity grease or regular lubricating oil. Don't rate down the product because you didn't know what you were buying.

I used a mixture of mineral spirits/water/detergent to clean out my bike's dirty bearings and crank, and used this stuff to relubricate them. It's a thick sort of paste with a pleasant bluish-green color, and it works awesome for bearings because it's thick enough to hold them in place when you're putting the small bearings in so that they won't fall out, but it's greasy enough that once they get rolling they're lubricated perfectly. My wheels spun much nicer after applying this stuff. It's not revolutionary, but it's a fair amount for a good price. You could probably service ten bikes with one tube, or just one bike for a few years depending on how often you bother to re-grease your internals.

This stuff would also work great for lubricating a few things inside the frame; maybe rubbing a little on the walls of the seat tube, or especially lubricating the internal bolts and nuts in the head-tube to prevent them from corroding, which can be a serious pain if you ever try to install a new fork. I wouldn't use this on external bolts, like the rear or front axles, because this stuff will stay on there forever and collect all manner of dirt and debris. Leave that sort of stuff to light oil.

5Simply the Best!  Sep 25, 2011 By Gary M. Pages
Park PolyLube is the best, all-around grease made, period, and it can be used in virtually any situation. Not only is it the best for my bicycle, but I also use it on my motorcycle and on my in-line skate bearings, which would normally require a very light-weight, specially formulated type of grease. So, if you're not sure what kind of grease to use, Park PolyLube is the best choice!

2average. not for every job  Aug 05, 2011 By Gabriel C. Barros
Good for derailleurs, awful for hubs and freewheels.

it's too thick. and there's no information about it's NLGI rating. which make buying it a total blind bet.

Go for something else as this is too expensive for not being too useful.

5Does what it needs to do!  Jul 28, 2011 By The Bran Man
I purchased this grease after all of the original grease In my bike's bearings got washed out, and I have to say, this grease was very easy to apply, and it seems to be really good stuff. I recommend it to anyone looking to overhaul their bearings, or for any other grease needed applications!
