5Very comfy  Aug 11, 2006 By D. Greene "Funk soul brother"
I just got this helmet yesterday and used it on a 15 mile ride and I already love the thing.
It's very comfy with multiple places to adjust the size and fit on my head.
What was key to me is that all of the holes are big enough for me to fit a few fingers in for scratching. My last helmet (Bell) had holes that were too small to reach where it itched.
Almost unfortunately, I haven't yet had the chance to test how it holds up in an impact, but I'm not in a rush to find that out.

3llllllllHelmet review  Jan 07, 2008 By Larry D. Cooper "Larry"
Helmet was excellent in many ways but claimed to be "one-size-fits-all". It was purchased as a gift for my Son, but it was too small and squeezed the sides of his head.

4Giro Encinal Helmet User's Comments  Jul 08, 2007 By Mr. James K. Rhone Sr. "Keither47"
This is a good sturdy helmet with good fit,(can be adjusted while wearing it). The large vent openings allow for ample air flow and scratching an itch. Good looks and good price make this one recommendable.

5Good Value Light Helmet  Mar 03, 2007 By M. Birtwhistle
Although I have not been able to test this helmet "in action" per se, it is a very sturdy, well constructed, light helmet that has unusually large air vents at that price point, but still seems to cover the goods pretty well. There don't seem to be any mentionable snag-points that can cause you to snap your neck when your limp body is flying through the air and your helmet snags on something that is prone to snagging things. The locking strap on the Occipital Bone is well constructed and secure, while allowing for easy adjustments if necessary (which, once set should not be necessary).

One slight complaint would be that because of the way the two leads coming from the helmet and joining into the chin strap are joined, they the parts above the joint do not lay totally flat. Again, this is only a minor issue and probably only an issue to me because I might have a slight tendency towards the obsessive.

The hard-shell is covered in a, somewhat, metallic type paint and the design is spiffy and surely adds the appearance of speed. The visor is not adjustable, but why the heck would you need to adjust the visor anyways; maybe that's just me though!

Definitely a good buy......... but then again I have not been able to try the helmet out in when it actually comes down to it.

4Great helmet if it fits  Jul 31, 2008 By GearInches
I bought one of these from another online retailer last fall. Initially, I thought it fit great (my first helmet, so I had nothing to compare it to), but eventually I began to notice a little side-to-side movement at all times. There was also slight forward to back movement when I popped my front wheel up to clear logs. It was very comfortable, but the universal fit was just too large for me.

After a handful of rides, I opted to sell it and buy a Giro Havoc (size medium) instead. The fit is much better for me. However, if you fall within the 54-61mm size, this would probably be a great helmet for you. Personally, I should have spent more time at the local bike shops trying on all the helmets before I went ahead and ordered a universal fit online. I'd suggest you do the same, then save a few bucks and get it from Amazon.
