Exactly what I was looking for Jul 20, 2010 I bought this bar tape because I don't like the cork stuff. This tape has a firm, smooth texture and clean look. There's very little cushion, and I don't even use gloves, but I'm OK with that. My hand slipped off the drop bars once when it was really sweaty, so I just have to be a little more mindful of that.
My Favorite Jun 27, 2010 Fizik bar tape is fantastic, the best I have used. Obviously, different people will have different opinions, but personally I love the qualities of this tape over the others I have tried. It is not extremely cushy, but that is my preference, and it has a slightly tacky feel. I find the stretchiness/ compound of this tape appealing to work with, and when done right you can get a really nice fit on your bars even if you are not an expert are taping. It also holds up very well through weather; I highly recommend it.
What Bar Tape is Better? Apr 20, 2010 Fizik bar tape rocks. It is long lasting, stays in place and offers great feel. I ride ultra-distance events -- without gloves -- and this is my pick every time. Even in the rain this tape grips just right. Fizik tape offers the right amount of cushioning. And it cleans up pretty well (not the soft touch but the others) if you get a light color.
One of the other reviewers complained about the tape being tough to remove. I've never had that problem. I've used this on 4 different bikes over the last several years and I've retaped three of them (I ride >20,000 km/year). Granted I don't lock my bikes outdoors but they get plenty of time in the sun.
Before using Fizik tape I thought Cinelli was the way to go. No more.
So back to my original question: what bar tape is better? If you're a Riv-riding part of the 'steel is real' crowd you can get some Tressostar and dress it up with shellac and twine. If not, this stuff is hard to beat!
The Best Mar 14, 2010 The best bar tape. Lasts twice as long as Cinelli. The adhesive is really tough. A little short.

Very Nice Feel - Unforgiving Installation - Too Short Feb 15, 2010 On the pro. side, this product has a very nice feel and appearance.
On the con. side, this product is very difficult and unforgiving to install which renders the product not worth buying. There is not enough tape on a roll to generously wrap a bar, only the bare bones. And if you wind up will too little and attempt to go back, you will end up tearing and distroying the underlying layer (unless you don't use the adhesive).
All in all this product is not worth buying unless you have a simple and small bar, for instance, a bullhorn fixie bar.
