I'm not sure this really does much Feb 21, 2011
By ChicagoShaun It's not just this specific product, but all products that attach to your down tube behind the front wheel. My feet still get wet and it doesn't protect the bottom bracket from getting muddy. I also seem to feel more wind resistance when I'm using it, but that could just be in my head.
Helps keep the bottom bracket clean! Jan 29, 2012
By C. Zeman My bike is motorized, gloss white, and I often ride in nasty weather. I already have full-coverage fenders, but I needed something more. Enter the SKS Mud-X. It installed in minutes and now my bottom bracket and crank sprockets stay clean longer!

By ubcubano The rains just began in the Bay Area and this fender was just what was needed. The set up was as easy as could be and the functionality was immediately proven in my first wet ride where the fender deflected the water to my satisfaction.
Can't wait for the rear SKS-3 to arrive so I can keep my backside drier as well.

Somewhat useful Jun 07, 2009

I know I definitely needed a fender for my front wheel, and this one seems to prevent some of the water / mud / slush from getting to my front derailleur. But I don't think it is as effective as I'd hoped. It was certainly very easy to install, and it looks nice on my Scott Sportster P55.
