The product works great but the work/installation itself really requires a good quality punch to drive out and reinsert the roll pin. Once that is complete the product is very easy to install and use - a tremendous upgrade to the seatpost.

By Rob Winger Situations where it's most beneficial it to drop the seat are generally the ones where its too dangerous to release the bars to reach under the saddle. Prior to having this installed by my local bike shop (I think they charged about $15) I would only lower the seat before long descents - generally only a few times each ride. Now, I'm adjusting my saddle height almost as frequently as I shift. I can tear through technical sections must faster and with greater confidence by quickly lowering my center of gravity. And if that long downhill starts to climb for a bit, I can instantly bring the saddle up for more pedaling power.
If you have a Joplin and don't have this, you're not getting close to the it's full benefits. My only regret is I did not purchase this when I bought my bike. Before getting the remote kit, I considered selling my Joplin seat post (which came with the bike) to drop a little weight and complexity from my bike. Now I can't imagine giving it up.
