this probably would work good but it was not packaged right for shipping and arrived broke, i dont even know who to get a hold of for a refund. so im stuck with a broken piece of crap

This generator/light setup is incredible easy to install, and works better than I had expected.
I'd read reviews for this product from other vendors, and some people complained about installation being difficult without instructions. I think they might be slightly brain damaged. Everything is quite obvious, including the wiring. It's a simple single wire setup, and there is a "T""H" label on the generator to indicate Tail light, and Headlight. The wire is already attached to the tail light, as is the mount. It's quite clear which mount goes to the headlight, leaving 1 more part, and that's the mount for the generator. If you can't figure out how to attach it to the bike, then you probably shouldn't allowed to ride a bike...

The only real complaint that I have about this product is the lack of an instruction sheet. It took me a little while to figure out how to mount the headlight. A larger, more easily visible tail light might also have been useful.
One web page describing this product says that this is a clone of a classic British generator light set. The design of the reflector inside the headlight is pretty good, as it casts a nice, bright beam that carries moderately far and easily lights up road signs, lane markings, reflectors on the road, etc. It is not as bright as the expensive battery-powered lights that the "real" cyclists use, but it is certainly brighter than any 6V/3W light set that I have owned (and the efficacy of these lights does vary quite a bit, depending on how the reflector in the headlight focuses the light).
The amount of drag that the generator creates is small enough that I don't find it objectionable. The only caveat I have found is that the positioning of the generator has to be adjusted carefully, by trial and error, so that the generator's drive wheel gets good traction on the tire sidewall and does not slip. This is especially critical when riding in wet conditions.

I bought these as Christmas gifts but I doubt they will even be used.
I cant speak for the performance of the product but I can vouch for the delivery. I received the product very quickly and it was exactly what I ordered.

This product looks nice, but it doesn't work. It doesn't have any instructions. It is relatively easy to install using a little common sense. After installing it twice, it never worked. Could be a bad generator, or it could be the questionable switch mechanism on the light. I wouldn't waste my money again on this item.
