I can see clearly now Jun 19, 2006
By Philip Pace I'm buying my second one - the first one has worn out after six years of use. I like this one better than others because it sticks out farther so you can see behind you better. It also has a hinge so that when it knocks into something, it doesn't break or fall off... also good for easily moving it to make the bike fit in the trunk better.
It's fallen off a lot recently, but I think in the first five years, it fell of once before I really tightened it down (it has a knob that makes it removable by hand, but the knob lines up flush with the arm so when the mirror is extended, it's not noticeable).

Wobbly but functional Mar 11, 2007
By Antoine Durr This mirror has a gooseneck adjustment, which is handy for readjustment. However, the upshot is that it wobbles. In addition, because it is horizontal rather than vertical, the wobblyness is exacerbated, and if you change your seating position a bit, you will no longer see what you dialed in in the first place.

acceptable after some hacking (literally) Feb 08, 2008
By bat rastard this is my third bike mirror in nine years, the second of this model. the first eventually fell off in traffic during a ride because i didn't know i had to periodically tighten the clamp.
the second was manufactured by Mirrycle, and worked great until the glass broke in an accident.
i went back to the blackburn because it looks cool and has a wide, clear viewing area, however i had to cut nearly half of the insert off with a jigsaw to get it to fit inside the bar end of my Bianchi Boardwalk. the last Blackburn mirror was installed when i first purchased the bike, i don't know if they did the same thing or if Blackburn has changed the diameter of this product, but i am now concerned about its longterm durability. that said, at the moment it fits securely and looks great.
as others have mentioned the viewing area does wobble a bit (the Mirrycle does not), however this doesn't really matter as long as you're just glancing down to check for approaching cars/cyclists.

Great Bicycle Mirror! Sep 28, 2006
By Mark Love
"Freethinker"
I've used this mirror going on 3 years now, and it works great on my tandem bicycle. Because of the the way it hangs out pretty far from the end of the handlebars, I can see around the stoker with ease. It has a well designed flexible joint that allows you to rotate the mirror in, out, up, down, and holds the position well. It's also a tuff mirror. Mine has worked loose from the handle bar end over time, on more than one occasion, and fallen on the pavement with no apparent damage to the mirror. To sum it up, this is a excellent bike mirror!

Falls off every time I go over a bump! Mar 24, 2008
By shereads I bought this mirror today at my local bicycle shop, and will be returning it tomorrow. The piece that inserts into the handlebar is a flimsy piece of plastic, and the insertion is so shallow that just a few minutes of vibration during street riding, plus gravity, were all it took to dislodge the thing and send it to the sidewalk.
