Good Adaptor For A Hybrid (with no stay arm holes) Jul 27, 2010
By Diane L. Pope I show a couple pix and mention this adaptor on following product page... Sunlite Bicycle Welded Spring Rear Rack, (Black) Very easy to install and worked great on my hybrid that had no predrilled holes for rack stay arms. It's rubber coated. I sometimes attach a basket and carry groceries on my rack and have had no problems with anything coming loose and I ride on rough terrain quite often.

Worked like a charm Sep 08, 2011

I bought this adapter because the hardware that came with my rear twin basket did not work with the thickness of my cruiser's back seat bar. I was able to get around that with the help of this adapter, and it has securely kept my basket in place, even with carrying a 20lb pet on top of it.

Works As Advertised Aug 26, 2011
By Kitchen King The product was easy to install and works well. The Trek bike that my girlfriend has is built with a very small frame(15") and this device saved the day.

an ingenious little device Jun 20, 2011

Some bikes work with just about any rack, but other bikes are harder to fit, because of odd frame geometry, or unusual tube sizes, or weird brake placement, or whatever. In my case, close proximity of the rear brake on my Bontrager Privateer Comp to the rear rack stays made me uncomfortable with using traditional mounting clamps. It was too easy to imagine cases in which the stays would interfere with the brake.
The Sunlite adapter solved the problem in about three minutes for under $5. Sunlite warns us not to use their adapter with a child seat, and I would follow that advice, but I have no trouble putting a laptop and other expensive items in my trunk bag, resting on a rack that is held in place with this adapter. It was a perfect solution to my problem.
A tip -- you'll want a good 4mm allen wrench to install this.

Works as advertised on an old model Trek. Nov 08, 2011
By Tree Squirrel This works as anticipated on my old model Trek mountain bike. Easy to install and seems very well manufactured. Has held up well on my bike rack with loads of books.
