5great helmet  Apr 01, 2007 By Kevin S. Nason
I bought this as a replacement for the same model I've been using for about 2-1/2 years. It fits well, has plenty of ventilation, and is easy to adjust. I think the rear size adjustment is much easier to use than the Giro helmets, which is nice if you sometimes wear an earwarmer or skullcap underneath.
My one compaint is the downside of having lots of ventilation holes - it makes the wind noise loud, sometimes making you think a car is approaching when it's not. Better safe than sorry, I guess.

5Saved My Head!  Nov 22, 2008 By Aaron Kirsch
I've had a Bell Ghisallo since 2001. It's comfortable, cool, and fits well (for some reason Bell fits my head, and Giro helmets to not). The big bonus came yesterday when I was riding to work and a car hit me. I broke a rib, punctured a lung, bruised my hip and shoulder, got a serious case of whiplash, and cracked my Ghisallo helmet. The helmet did it's job perfectly; My head is completely unscathed. The patron saint of cycling was with me yesterday for sure.

4bell ghisallo  Aug 27, 2007 By James Macaluso
Cool. I live and ride in south fl, yes even in the summer with the heat index of 106. Bell helmets have always treated me well and while they also make the Giro brand as well the prices for Bell seem more reasonable. Honestly construction wise I think they are all pretty much the same. While my old Bell Furio fit my head more comfortably, the Ghisallo has more (and larger) vents and is definitely cooler. Plus I needed a new red helmet to match my new bike...

5Crash tested TWICE!  Jul 14, 2008 By MATTHEW BRINK "czeqm8"
I ride a road bike and have really put this helmet to the test. I crashed about 3 years ago and landed on my head. The helmet did exactly what it was supposed to do...... it broke. My head was totally fine. I bought the exact same model.

Fast forward to last week. I am in a paceline going 25 miles per hour. One of the guys crashed in front of me and there was nothing I could do, but crash. I flew over the handle bars and smashed up everything. I think I landed on my head first or second, but I really can't say. I hit hard. My helmet broke...... perfectly. My head was totally fine.

I just received my third Bell Ghisallo helmet today. It is cool with the big vents and compared to some models, cheap. I never ride without a helmet and neither should you!

5Very comfortable!  Oct 22, 2011 By Grace
This is my first Bell helmet. I always used Giro helmets, but they are very expensive. I was a bit skeptical about trying a Bell helmet, because when I tried them in the past, the shape did not fit me well. That was over 10 years ago, and things change. I tried one at a local store to get an idea on the size and fit, then made my purchase. I have been pleasantly surprised! The fit is ideal and the adjustability is very easy to use. I have used this helmet on several rides and I find it to be very comfortable and light. I recall seeing another review that mentioned sweat dripping down the person's face. I also experienced this, so I went back to my prior habit of wearing a terry cloth headband. This catches any sweat and is a simple solution to the problem. Overall, I am very pleased with the helmet.
