3Snug and needs to off-gas  Nov 09, 2010 By Daniel O. Harrang "Nobody special"
I ride both mountain bikes and Motorcycles; and learned the hard-way that there is a big difference in helmet sizing depending on the intended use. For Motorcycles I need a 'medium' helmet for my average sized adult head... a size large motorcycle helmet fits loosely on my skull and is therefor not as safe.
This is why I originally ordered a 'Medium' Bell Bellistic bike helmet; only to have it arrive and cause my ears to burn while trying to put it on and take it off for the first time. The good news is that the return was easy and I was credited all but the $6.70 return S&H. I re-ordered the same helmet in the next size bigger and it too is pretty darn tight (considering it's a 'Large' and I don't have a 'Large' head). I decided to keep it rather than return the same product AGAIN for the same reason.
My next disappointment was on my inaugaral ride: the mouth protecting area of the helmet smelled strongly of the synthetic chemicals used in the production process and as I huffed and puffed up a hill every inhalation was laced with off-gassing chem's; seriously detracting from the enjoyment of my ride. I've left it out in the sun and rain and wind for about a week so it's probably "good to go" by now. My advice: Order 1 to 2 sizes bigger than you think you need, and let it breathe before you hit the trails.

5Great helmet for the price  Oct 20, 2009 By Scott Stockton
This is a great helmet. I bought it to replace another Bellistic I bought a few years ago. I'm an aggressive mountain bike rider, and have unfortunately landed on my head a few times; the Bellistic kept my head in one piece. It is cheaper than other good helmets, the trade off is that it has fewer air vents than some (so I bought a white one for those hot summer days). It also does not have a removable liner, so it's harder to wash. The sizes run small. I usually wear a size small, but my Bellistic is a medium. I'm giving it 5 stars because based on the price, it is excellent. I have friends who have spent $200 or more for their helmets with more vents and removable liners.

5Bellistic BMX helmet  Mar 14, 2006 By JUBJUB "JUBJUB"
This hetmet is great helmet to have. It is light weight and can take a beating. I have had it for a little over a month and it has been great.

4Looks awesome! Beware of the size  Apr 06, 2007 By Davila Colina Ciro Eleazar
I just purchased this item and it looks amazing, but I couldn't do much with it since the Medium size I ordered was almost child size, so I am having to return it. I am not sure if the large size will work but I am afraid this may be a mislabeled child item.

5Great Helmet  Jul 15, 2011 By J. Wagener
I bought this helmet for use on my 30mph Urban Electric Bike. I needed something with a little more protection than my simple bike helmet. Works great. I can still hear everything I need to with the slots over the ears, visibility is great as well. A great buy!

Only complaint is the size. I have a large and it is still snug (even through that is probably safer). Get one size bigger than you think you need.
