Beautiful but not built for a bicyclist Dec 09, 2009
By Va. Beach cyclist This product is so beautiful and well made, that I feel bad giving it any negative comments.
But, as good as it is, it is not functional. It is so large & no cut-outs, that your heels
hit it every time you turn your pedals. No useful for a serious bicyclist.
The seller was wonderful, shipped it to me quickly and allowed me to return it.

I agree with the person who said that this bag hits your spokes. I've had it happen a few times. I am trying to figure out if there is any way I can fix this problem because they are so darn cute. But biker beware! And maybe just go with a different set of cute panniers.

LOVE THIS! Jul 28, 2011
By asystole After I got tired of carrying a big backpack on my back to and fro; I wanted some saddlebags that were unlike all the black saddlebags available everywhere. I wanted some with character; these have it! I've read reviews regarding the placement and how they interfere with your riding. The best remedy would be to get the right holding rack for your bike. I have had no problems; except for getting used to the weight distribution on the back of my bike. I can even carry even more than I was able to with a backpack. These are amazing, and I get compliments on them everywhere I go. I'm sorry I didn't find these earlier!

Love this product! Aug 03, 2010
By Andrea F. After scouring the shops in town- I did what I should have done in the first place- went online. I found these panniers right away, and they are PERFECT... checkout was easy, and they arrived well packed and with only a little delay. (I paid for expedited shipping and it still took almost two weeks- so if you are in Canada, don't bother with expedited shipping!) The bags are well-made and a durable fabric- and exactly as advertised. Even though I had to pay extra for the shipping, the total cost was still comparable with what I would pay retail here in Canada. I highly recommend these panniers- and they come in all kinds of colors and patterns!
Great bike accessory Sep 10, 2011

I purchased the Basil Blossom Double Bike Bag because I have recently begun biking to work. For quite a while I was wearing a backpack, but that would shift and become hot.
I chose these panniers over all the others because I wanted something "fun" (i.e., not black and industrial) and I like purple. I'm very happy with them. My only quibble is that they did not come with any sort of installation instructions, so it took me quite a while to figure out how to get them on the rack. This is not something you will take on and off your bike. There are four ties under the straps (two per side)and Velcro fittings halfway down the back of the bags (one per side). I managed to loop the Velcro to the bike frame. They must be attached well enough, because they don't shift around.
I try to balance weight between the two bags, but it really doesn't seem to affect things if I have significantly more weight in one bag than the other.
The panniers are quite roomy. Recyclable grocery bags fit nicely inside, so when you're ready to go you can just drop the bags into the panniers.
Several other reviewers mentioned hitting these bags with their feet. The first few days I used them, I would occasionally strike them (particularly with my right foot: not sure why). That's not a problem anymore. Perhaps the bags moved back just a bit, or maybe I've modified my foot position on the pedals enough not to hit them.
The panniers are made out of a nice, heavy duty material. I haven't ridden in the rain, but they seem to be waterproof. There's no reason these shouldn't last for years, and in good condition.
