Great product, great design Jun 26, 2008
By S. Huang I'd been searching a robust bike basket for my wife's 24" mountain bike. My criterion are:
1. should be able to carry at least 15 children books (we go to library once a week.) each book is about 12 in. * 10 in.
2. Should be abile to carry grocery (one gallon milk, 6 banana, some bread, cookies.)
3. should be able to attach/detach in one-hand (my wife carries our 3-yr daughter in the back seat.)
4. There are several bumps in our community, this basket should not pitch or loose while over these bumps.
5. Still be able to mount a front flash light in the handle bar while the basket is secured in the handle bar.
I've tested some baskets purchased in walmart, sport authority, REI, local bike store. Only this Wald basket (I purchased it via Amazon) does it all!

Good functional front bike basket easy to use Oct 10, 2008
By s_b Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2355M212189O0 Please let me know if you found the 1-min video useful, taken with a video camera called Flip that I had purchased from Amazon! Mr. Huang's logical review of the basket influenced my decision to order this product, and I have thoroughly enjoyed using it for trips to the grocery store and to the library. When you lift the arm, the arm disengages. My 6-yr old knows how to operate it. I have loaded several pounds worth of groceries -- and the ride is smooth. But please note that this is not suitable for children's bikes. You have to be able to steer firmly with all the front loading that goes into the basket.

Wald bike baskets Jul 22, 2008
By Ronald R. Beland
"Striving Ecoman"
Wald removable bike baskets are very well designed and American made for the most part, though I was disapointed to find that the large fine mesh basket component was made in China. The rack that attaches to the handlebars is brilliantly simple and easily adaptable to carry handlebar bags of most any brand.

An Intelligent Spin on a Classic Mar 12, 2009
By Stephen J. Collora The "Classic" is of course the old fashioned flimsy bolt-on style with poor plating. None of that here. It has a nice tight diamond mesh and has a tough black vinyl coating.
I attached this bad boy in 5 minutes with only a screw driver. It comes with a mounting bracket that attaches to the handle bars by 2 split clamps. It has an angled brace on the bottom that rests on the handle bar tube to prevent the clamps from slipping and tipping the basket out of position.
The carry handle doubles as an attachment device. Lift it and the basket is removable to take along with you. Clever!
My only insignificant complaint is that it rattled when empty. A "zip tie" solved this easily.

Nice Basket Sep 23, 2008
By MikeyMc This is a good looking and well-made basket. Installation is easy and it's sturdy enough to carry locks or milk or produce from the farmer's market. The fine mesh keeps little stuff from falling out. It locks securely on the rack and comes off easily when you need it.
The only thing that keeps it from being perfect is the brace on the back rests awkwardly against the stem. It has found it's own equilibrium, but it prevents the basket from being perfectly vertical. Just enough to aggravate you if you're OCD but not enough to cause any real problems.
