5Nice!  May 15, 2013 By Maximilian
I bought this saddle to replace the one on my 8 years old daughter's bike.
It is a good quality saddle. A little heavy but OK.
It has springs, but they are too firm for a kid.

5perfect for her bike  May 14, 2013 By Julie R Molinari
This saddle is very well made, easy to install, super cute, and comfortable for my daughter to sit on. A great purchase!

1Electra customer service SUCKS!  Mar 22, 2013 By ...
I am writing this review with regards to Electra's customer service and the fact that they are sending out defective parts and have no process in place to correct or repair this defective part. I had a horrible experience with this company. I want to share my story and rate the company's customer service regarding their products so other people who might buy from them can see how they treated one little customer, me.

I wanted to purchase new bikes for my family, for Christmas, and decided, for myself, on an Electra Amsterdam. I bought this particular bike for the looks, obviously, and for the front light that is powered by the wheel turning. I happen to live on a street with no lights and no sidewalks and most of my time riding would be in the evening. It had to be special ordered so I ordered well in advance. Once the bike came in, and was assembled, I went to pick it up and was told that the front hub light didn't work but that they would order a replacement, no problem. They told me to bring the bike back in to have it corrected once the replacement piece came in. This would be inconvenient for me as the store is half an hour away, I'd have to lug a huge bike rack up onto my car then mount this 50 lb bike to it (I'm a 100 lb girl) and spend the time to go back and forth to do it - but I said no problem. Sooo.. Electra said it was the bulb and they'd send a replacement. A MONTH later I get a call from Sport Chalet, where I bought the bike, telling me that Electra FINALLY sent the part. I bring in the bike and the light doesn't even go to my bike. I wait another month and call Sport Chalet and they tell me that Electra isn't even responding to their emails. Electra finally gets back to them but only to tell them to tell me to bring the bike in to have the light unassembled to see what is wrong with it. Sport Chalet had been asking them for a full replacement light. I bring the bike in again, this has been another month, and they find that some internal switch on the light is the problem. Electra won't get back to them again so Sport Chalet actually tries to contact the maker of the lights, though they can't really do anything to help out. The General Manager of Sport Chalet then gets ahold of Electra. Electra tells them that the lights on this new model of Amsterdam are actually defective and they are in the process of redesigning them! They offer to take another defective light from another bike and hope that it's not broken then send it to to be put on my bike. I'm like, "WHAT?!" So basically they are still selling these bikes with no process in place to fix anyones broken lights EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THEM. Isn't that illegal?! At this point I decide to call Electra. I speak to a woman who says she'll call me back within a day - three days later, no call. I call again and speak to someone else who first tells me that there is no problem with this light, then later admits that they are trying to figure out how to fix the problem with these defective lights! He tells me that there should be no problem returning this bike to Sport Chalet and if I even decide to give Electra another chance when I buy a new bike he'll comp me some accessories. I thank him and call Sport Chalet to return the bike. They say no problem. A few hours later I get a call back from Sport Chalet telling me that someone else from Electra actually told me that if I kept the bike they'd give me some free accessories and that they weren't condoning my return!!! I couldn't believe this. Sport Chalet totally believed me as I've been in there over 6 times for this bike and now have a working relationship with people there. They profusely apologized and have been great through this entire situation. Anyway, to make a long story short - too late! I returned the bike to Sport Chalet. I call the CEO, Skip, the next morning and tell him this whole story thinking that he might offer a true apology and possibly offer me another bike for a discount, one without any known defective parts, etc., or anything, but he pretty much just told me to pound sand. I was even crying on the phone as I was so upset over this entire ordeal. I'm now out a Christmas gift, four months of not getting to ride my bike when I actually had the time, in the evenings, and hours upon hours of driving back and forth to the store for nothing. I also now have a $1000 credit on my credit card as I had already, obviously, paid my credit card off for the bike so I couldn't even get the money back to put in my bank account. I know that's no ones fault really but it's just one more straw that's breaking the camels back here. I then think I'll file a claim with the BBB but they aren't even accredited through the BBB and they rank with a D- anyway, with one complaint not resolved. I still wrote a complaint on there since I really think that people should know about the SUPER crappy service this company gives when you actually deal with the company. I wonder how long they would last if they were actually selling their bikes without the bike shop middle man. Not long. I don't shop at Wal-mart but I bet they even have better customer service! I'm going to now look into seeing if there is some sort of company that protects consumers from this kind of no-warranty/no company accountability issue.. anyone care to join me?
