I bought two Bell ashtrays, this one and one of the Bell Automotive 22-1-39263-8 Ash Tray with Solar Powered Lighting ashtray
Pros of this one:
1. Looks good
2. Has a "backup" (CR2016) battery installed inside the lid
3. Comes with a Velcro pad
Cons of this one:
1. Feels cheep
2. The Blue LED projects light too far (glare) out and not so much on the ashtray
3. The receptacle is plastic
4. The small hole (on the left) is not a "snuffer" it's just that, a hole
5. Smaller than the Bell 22-1-39263-8

Pros:
1. The receptacle is metal
2. The center has a hole to drop your butts in
3. It's larger, less emptying
4. Light only comes on only when the lid is fully extended (saves power)
5. You can turn the ring to change the color
6. LED lights up just the ashtray
Cons:
1. No battery backup

Great looking ashtray, fits perfect in my 2008 altima. The LED is great, but the only thing i'm complaining about is that it actually feels cheap and made cheap; great value though.

At first I liked this ashtray, but soon realized it just eats batteries since the light is on every time the lid is open. I have to remember to close it when not in use. Going to get one that is solar powered. Light only on when it's dark enough outside. Also, this one is a little small and sits flush with the cup holder. I prefer one that is a little taller.

Fits nicely into my Accord's cup holder, light isn't on the tray itself, but provides a guide. Can't figure why people are complaining about it being "cheap" -- look at the price! Don't expect brushed chrome -- this is about utility.
Battery compartment too loose Feb 13, 2013

If you need the light on this ashtray, try another. The battery compartment is loose and causes the light to dim and go off at times. I have also lost batteries dumping the ashtray in a trashcan because the case came off.
