Nothing cheap about this item. Well engineered expansion design allows for very easy insallation. Perfect for carbon steerer tubing. FSA gets my vote for good, reliable products.

Easy to install and stays firm. I'm using it with a Thomson stem and Carbon bars. I have no twisting, it's snug.

This is a good design. You can adjust where the expansion plug sits in the head tube by a cm or so- this lets you have the plug at the same level as your stem. It's nice to have the plug at the same height as the stem because there is less chance of crushing the carbon steerer and it adds a little strength to the whole system. Some of the expansion plugs that I have seen sit on top the steerer tube and then when you tighten them they naturally expand up leaving a gap between the top of the steerer and the lip of the plug, this one doesn't do that- much better design. I ordered from Greenville Custom and they shipped fast. Good experience and good product.

Simple, easy to install and it actually came with pretty good instructions. Even tho my custom carbon frame came with a plug, I did not have a cap and had to replace the stock plug with this. In my races, it seems solid with no apparent wear to the carbon steerer.
