It may take some adjusting, but it's rock solid Nov 03, 2011
By Robert in SF I needed a stand for my old Triumph 3-speed middleweight (basically the same as a Raleigh). I live in San Francisco and center-stands are much more stable for parking on our hills than are side-stands, at least as long as they're sturdy. I admit that it took a bit of figuring to get the stand mounted on my frame, what with the Sturmey-Archer 3-speed hub spindle, the fender stays, my rear rack and other bits that attach to the rear of the frame, but once it was on, the stand was rock solid. Just how solid? You can sit on your bike and move around, and it's not going anywhere.
One of the things I most appreciate about it is that it has a little arm on the left side that, when kicked forward, locks the stand in the down position. This not only prevents the bike from rolling off of the stand (an already unlikely scenario), but it functions as another anti-theft device, since it's unlikely that a thief would know that he has to kick the arm back in the other direction to release the lock and allow the stand to fold up. And the spring makes the stand snap up into place when you're ready to go; it doesn't require foot-power.
I would buy this stand again in a heartbeat for any traditional middle-weight bike like a Hercules, Raleigh or Hawthorne. Just be prepared to spend some time and effort in getting it set up correctly. It's not "plug and play", kids.

Heavy, ugly and slow shipping Aug 10, 2011
By Robert Bowen
"Automotive Reader and Writer"
This expensive little gem SHOULD be really cool on my 1940's Raleigh, but instead it's heavy and appears to be made out of recycled farm implements. Plus the seller took nearly a month to ship it to me, and their return policy is to only honor returns made 'within 30 days of PLACING the order'. Whatever, I'll throw it in a corner and wait for the right forlorn 3-speed stepthrough to come through my garage.

Axle Kickstand 26" Wheel Bicycle Bike Black Feb 11, 2009
By pejoiner I love rear axle kick stands. Classic. simple and functional. Works well and looks good on my 1940's Humber. Having enough room on the axle is some times a problem.

I like the idea of this stand.... Sep 13, 2008
By Joshua Speer but I couldn't get it to work. It doesn't fit a quick-release axle very well and the mounting points didn't fit my bike's frame. That said, I didn't return it and hope to pound/grind/drill it to fit: side kickstands are just too unstable!

Front Wheel Stand Nov 23, 2010
By David V. Harris

This stand needs to be displayed with a better picture. It is a front wheel stand. Will not fit on rear wheel.
