Seems solidly built, and the price is right. Apr 20, 2013
By Michael Ott I bought this to create a 12 volt extension cord for my RV. It was the cheapest one I could find, but also appears to be better built than the more expensive ones. The springs are strong, and hold the cover tightly shut. The wires are heavy duty. Be aware that this unit is designed to be mounted under a shelf of some sort, like on a boat. It is not designed to be flush mounted through a panel. For my purposes, it'll do just fine.
Handy Jack Oct 27, 2011
By PASSTHEAMMO Installed this in my truck bed in the back corner out of the way by the tailgate. I have a canopy on it right now but it was easy to install and I ran the wires with a new in line fuse to the battery. Comes in handy on camping trips, trickle charging another battery while I drive around hunting/firewood, or an electric tire pump. I typically use it to charge cell phones and GPS radios when out camping. It is a decent design and have no hesitations about the times of the year the canopy comes off and the rain and freeway mist being thrown around on it. Similar design to a light plug for trailers and those are in the weather all the time. Decent product.
flimsy housing Sep 05, 2011
By M. Simon I bought this power plug and installed it on my motorcycle. Two problems : one, the housing developed a crack after a year ; two, the inner metal cylinder that is the ground connection has gotten very loose so that whenever i pull out my gps power plug the metal comes along with it. very frustrating. i will be shopping for something that is better built.
extra plug Apr 18, 2011
By Kryg I wanted to give my phone dock a built in look but not having a visible phone charger cord so I but this in the dash and then plunged my charger into it. problem I had was the door/cover but it came off easily and the second was my phone charger was not being held tightly but a piece of electronic take fixed that.
it was very easy to install I used quick splices from auto zone I have been using this for the last month with no problems.
